He is survived by his son, Steve Brent Akin (Amelia) of Center Ridge; daughter, Christy Hogan (Brian) of Conway; brothers, Gary Akin of Springfield and Shane Akin of Little Rock; mother, Georgie "Shirley" Woolverton of Springfield; grandson, Alex Brent Akin of Little Rock; granddaughters, Alexis Nicole Akin and Tressie Thompson of Center Ridge.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Pipes officiating. Burial will be at Woolverton Mountain Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
