Cecil William Hagler, 85, of Sulphur Rock died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at his home.

Born June 14, 1917, at Batesville, he was the son of Willie Frances Hagler and Nancy Elizabeth Bruce Hagler. He was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad and Wood-Lawn Nursing Home, was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II and received an honorable discharge and the Purple Heart, and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Delois Fay Henderson Hagler; two sons, Charles Douglas Hagler of Sidney and Gregory Glenn Hagler of Sulphur Rock; three daughters, Sharon Kay Chinn and Rita Darlene Kirk, both of Batesville, and Freda Lee Hill of Newark; two sisters, Adean Bruno of Dallas and Deorotha Olene Horton of Sulphur Rock; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Hubert Frances Hagler and Clifford Hagler; and four sisters, Ruth Driskill, Agness Hazel Sanders, May Cathryn Colton and Doris Lee Chinn.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Wood Cemetery at Cord-Charlotte.

Pallbearers will be Foch Everette, James Andrew Hill, Larry Hawkins, Ted Heyde, Charles "Buddy" Henderson and Hershel Cunningham Jr.
