Sherman Noble Allen is the son of Dan Allen & "Mollie" Mary Ann (Smith) Allen Moore. His step father was Lewis Alvin Moore.

During the World War I, Sherman was a Private in the U.S. Army. He was inducted at Lampasas County Texas on July 22, 1918. He served in the 45th Company, 12th BN, 165 Depot Brigade to September 4, 1918 then to Company E, 123rd Infantry until discharge.

Yellow flathead catfish can exceed 100 pounds. The ones he caught in the picture look like they are at least 30 pounds each.
