Alexander Rites Held in St. Paul May 15
Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul Saturday, May 15 for William Charles Alexander, 83. He had lived for several years on a farm in the Logan community before moving to St. Paul.
Mr. Alexander died at his home in St. Paul Wednesday evening, May 12th. He was born in Hauntown, Clinton county, Iowa, Oct. 21, 1870, the son of William and Maggie Jane Alexander. When he was 7 months old, the family moved to Howard county, where he spent most of his life. He was elected and served as Howard county sheriff for a period of six years from 1904-1910.
On Dec 1, 1908 he was united in marriage to Marie Green, to this union was born one son, Franklin. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, eight brothers and one sister. He is survived by his son, Franklin and wife, Alta; two brothers, Warren and Alva of Grand Island and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home with Rev. John B. Roe officiating. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery.
