The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Byerly of Ostrander, who swallowed a piece of peanut shell last Friday evening, died on the train Saturday, while on the way to Portland, where an operation to remove the obstacle was to be performed. All efforts to dislodge the small substance had been in vain, and the little one passed away when within only 15 minutes of Portland, where prompt attention would have saved her life.
Burnice Luella Byerly was 15 months of age and was the object of greatest devotion in the Byerly home. Her taking away so suddenly has been a great blow to her parents and relatives. She was a granddaughter of Representative Oliver Byerly of Ostrander. The funeral services were held in the Ostrander church Monday afternoon, Rev. N. M. Temple officiating, and interment was in the Stockport cemetery.
