Gregory Dane Clifton, age 44, died August 5, 2011, at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Clifton, Jr. of Germantown, TN; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Clifton III, and a nephew Jackson Clifton all of Atlantic Beach, Florida; Garrett Clifton of Germantown, TN; his maternal grandmother, Mrs Garland Garrett of McAlester, Oklahoma; 4 aunts and uncles and numerous cousins, his wife, Laura Lucket Clifton of Jackson, MS and a son Zachary Dane Clifton of Jackson, MS. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Clifton Sr. and his maternal grandfather, Mr. Garland Garrett. Gregory graduated from Christian Brothers University with a degree in accounting in 1989. He was president of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi, his senior year. He began his career with Coopers and Lybrand in Memphis, TN. They merged with Pricewaterhouse and his career continued as a CPA with PricewaterhouseCoopers. During his 14 year career with PWC, he served in the Jacksonville, FL office and in the Florham Park, NJ National Office. Gregory was appointed to the Board of Directors of Dreams Come True of Jacksonville, FL, (a nonprofit organization that granted DREAMS to children with life threatening illnesses) elected and served as treasurer until April of 2000. In 2002, Gregory became a financial analyst for Moody's Corporation in New York City. in 2003, he was appointed and served on the SEC Regulations Committee for a three year term and for two years on Revenue Recognition Task Force representing the Shaw Group on Engineering and Construction Industry Controllers' Roundtable. Gregory most recently was a Senior Director in the Accounting and Finance division at the Shaw Group in Baton Rouge, LA. Gregory was a member of a number of professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He had CPA license in the state of Florida, New York and Tennessee. He was a member of St. Georges Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation and a rosary was said on Wednesday, August 10, at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11 at St. John's Catholic Church in Brinkley. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brinkley.
