Nathaniel "Jack" Jones was the son of the late Calvin Jones and Mary Moore of Van Buren. Jack was a member of The Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at Van Buren. During his residency at Fort Smith, he was a chef at the Old South Restaurants. Jack died on August 24 1981 at the Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas his wife Leodell died in 1996.

The Beal cemetery is located just off the Kibler-Yoestown road in the Newtown community. The cemetery is named for the Beal family. The cemetery is one of the nicest kept in the county.
