She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar W. Adams; and a son, David Adams.
She is survived by seven children, Miriam Hall, Lisa Albouy, William Adams (Jane), Peggy Barksdale, Joseph E. Adams (Faye), Virginia A. Matthews (Tommy) and R. Edward Adams (Debbie); 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Vernelle loved the Lord, her family and enjoyed helping and visiting others.
Remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and where services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6.
Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park.
