David Wayne Blankenship, 31, of Keen Mountain, died Oct. 24 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Warren Boyd of Richlands and Opal Boyd of Salisbury, NC.
He was a 1994 graduate of Garden High School. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessee James and Peggy Blankenship, and two sisters, Grethal Miller and Easter Blankenship.
Survivors: sisters, Edith Barnett and Marie Crouse, both of Concord, NC, Rosealee Marcum of Kannapolis, NC, Ethel Kasan of Radcliff, KY, Edith Keene of Lakewood, FL; brothers, Glenn Blankenship of Rowe, D.J. Blankenship of Roanoke, Stephen Boyd and Christopher Boyd, both of Rockwell, NC, Kevin Boyd of Johnson City, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. at the Robinson Port Holiness Church at Rowe with Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
Burial followed in the Nuckles Cemetery, Fletchers Ridge, near Vansant.
Services were held Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at the church.
