John Henry Lucian Elliott, 96, Kingsport, TN passed away, Friday, February 18, 2011.
Mr. Elliott was born in Scott County, VA on September 3, 1914, the son of the late Mac and Isabelle Lawson Elliott.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Elliott; son, Bill Elliott and an infant son. He is survived by his daughters, Glenna Hurd, Kingsport, TN, Nan Quillen and husband Rick, Kingsport, TN, Shirley Tipton and husband, Bill Pat, Gate City, VA, and Peggy Edens and husband, Larry, Church Hill, TN; sons, Fred Elliott and wife, Esta, Kingsport, TN, Johnny Elliott, Kingsport, TN, and Gary Elliott and wife, Janice, Kingsport, TN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Roy Durham.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Shirley and Bill Pat Tipton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Phillip Elliott officiating and a eulogy will given by his son, Gary Elliott. Grandchildren will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at the Lawson Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family wishes to convey a special thanks to Nina Collins and Dr. Wesley Eastridge for their care and support of Mr. Elliott
