Harry Robert Beasley, 74, of Patrick Springs, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at the R.J. Reynolds-Patrick County Memorial Hospital in Stuart.

Born Jan. 7, 1927, in Pigeon, W.Va., he was a son of the late Richard Beasley and the late Ida Pruitt Beasley.

He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Ray "Chip" Hill; and several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Beasley was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and he was a member of Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Gunter Beasley of the home; two daughters, Mary Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla., and Linda Beasley of Patrick Springs; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Ross Carr, Perry Hawks and the Rev. Wendell Sparrow presiding. Burial will follow in the Creasey Chapel Church Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, and other times at the home in Patrick Springs.
