Melissa was born November 2, 1971 in Dallas to Stephen and Michele (Melcher) Roberts. She graduated from JJ Pearce High School in Richardson and married Lee Brookshire on July 26, 1997 in Richardson. Melissa will be remembered for her love of the simple life, her laugh, her smile, and her huge heart. She had a passion for the outdoors, and could out-fish and out-hunt any man. She was the most happy when she was driving a big truck and pulling a trailer. Melissa was a member of the Inspiration Point Cowboy Church in Tom Bean.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Lee (who considered her the greatest woman who ever lived) of Greenville; daughter, Tabatha Brookshire of Greenville; three sons, Kenny, Brandon, and Alan Brookshire, all of Van Alstyne; five grandchildren, Carley, Sadie, Bethany, Ryder, and Danielle; mother, Michele Roberts of Richardson, father, Stephen Roberts of Richardson; brother, Stephen Michael Roberts of Plano; and grandmother, Mary Jo Roberts of Wichita Falls. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marie and Truman Melcher and Melvin Roberts.
The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at Waldo Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Liver Association at 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, New York 10006.
