Ida Mae Bandy, 94, of Roanoke, Va., passed away to be with her Lord on Friday, February 11, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bandy; her parents, James Everette and Delphia Rakes Edwards; and a brother, James Edwards.

She was a lifelong member of Brookhill Community Church. She is survived by her sons, Donald Bandy, of Roanoke, Va., and John Bandy, of Lynchburg, Va.; grandson, Dean Bandy and wife, Robin, of Roanoke, Va.; greatgrandchildren, Dylan and Irina Bandy, of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Frances Sue Lloyd, of Conway, S.C., and Lolene Shepherd and husband, Billy, of Boones Mill, Va.; many nieces and nephews; and her devoted caregiver, Mary West.

Services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. Pastor Gary Norris will officiate.

Interment will follow in Bandy Cemetery, Roanoke County. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011. Memorials may be made to Central Virginia Training School, P.O. Box 1098, Lynchburg, Va. 24505. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
