Farmville……………………Bobby Gene Anderson, age 73, died Thursday, January 19, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:30 P.M. from the Church Street Chapel of the Farmville Funeral Home by Rev. Oscar Coggin. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens near Farmville.
Mr. Anderson was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam, and was a member of the Snow Hill Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud C. and Mary Anderson; two sons, Bobby Anderson Jr. and Eddie Anderson; and a brother, Carl Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Peaden Anderson of Farmville; daughter, Dora Cooke and husband, Randy of Farmville; sister, Carol Nylander of Walstonburg; four brothers, Charles Anderson and wife, Sandra of Farmville, James Anderson and wife, Judy of Farmville, Timmy Anderson of Walstonburg, and Curtis Anderson of Millidgeville, GA; five grandchildren, Melanie Gardner and husband, John, Mandi Cooke, Clay Anderson and wife, Jennifer, Kevin Cooke, Brooke Anderson ; great grandchildren, Layla Gardner, Kara Gardner, and Angela Bradbury.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, and other times at the home of Joyce Anderson 4804 Green Pine Road, Farmville.
