Donna Ann (Czekaj) Accipiter, 47, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at her home. She was born April 29, 1965, in Greensburg, a daughter of Donald F. and Sarah M. Tepper Czekaj, of Scottdale. Donna worked at Dick's Sporting Goods Distribution Center in Smithton. She was a 1983 graduate of Southmoreland High School. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and vacations and concerts. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Barry W. Accipiter; her sons, Derrick Accipiter and his wife, Megan, of Monroeville, and Dustin Accipiter at home; a sister, Bernadette Wilson and her husband, Richard, of Erie; two brothers, Donald Czekaj and his wife, Amy, of Mt. Pleasant, and Steven Czekaj and his wife, Karen, of Plum Borough; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Mary Tepper, of Mt. Pleasant. Donna was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Frank Tepper, and her paternal grandparents, Walter and Catherine Czekaj and many other close relatives. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Rob Allison officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to an organization of choice promoting breast cancer awareness or research or to the family for the same cause.
