Herman E. Alexander, 83, of the Haven Nursing Home, formerly of Mitchell Road, died Jan. 8,1983, in the nursing home.
He was bom Oct. 8, 1899, in North Beaver Township to William and Jane McCullough Alexander. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Helen G. Dungan, who died June, 1972.
Mr. Alexander was owner-operator of Alexander's Radio, TV and Appliances for 30 years. After his retirement he refurnished kitchen cabinets. He was a member of Mahoningtown Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Travelers Protective Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward (June) Reynolds of New Castle; a son, Herbert W. Alexander of New Castle; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Betty McBride, who died in 1971.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in R. Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., North Side, 2429 Wilmington Road. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home by the Rev. Craig Herr, pastor of Second United Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
