Delma R. Amerine, 84, of Rushsylvania, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Heartland of Bellefontaine, surrounded by her loving family.

A loving homemaker, she retired in 1992 after 20 years of service as a seamstress with Holloway Sportswear in Jackson Center.

She was a 1948 graduate of Sidney High School and held memberships with Harriett Chapter 252 and Chapter 459, Order of the Eastern Star; Eagles Lodge Auxiliary 2166, Rhoda Circle; the Rushsylvania Church of Christ; and the Red Hat "Hattitudes." Delma enjoyed sewing and reading, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Sidney. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Applegate Cole; and her husband of 56 years on Jan. 30, 2008, Byron Thomas Amerine, to whom she was married on Sept. 1, 1951, in Richmond, Ind.

Surviving are three sons, Thomas Amerine Jr., William Amerine, and Robert (Vickie) Amerine; her daughter, Rose Ann (Everrett) Miller; four grandchildren, Destiny (Justin) Titus, Melissa (Patrick) Zell, and Eric and Jenna Amerine; a great-grandson, Trey Lyburtus; two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Sophia Titus; a brother, James (Betty) Cole; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home. The Reverend Lloyd Ferguson will officiate, and burial will take place at Rushsylvania Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, 222 West Center St., West Mansfield, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
