Johnney "John" C. Akens, age 81, of Temperance, MI, passed away Tuesday in Mercy Memorial Nursing Care Center, Monroe
He was a machine operator for 37 years with the Dana Corp, retiring in 1975 and was a member of the F&A.M. Samaria Lodge #438.
He was born June 24, 1913 in Petersburg, MI. the son of Clifton George and Myrtle (Bashaw) Akens.
He married Inez Gooch on April 6, 1935 in Toledo, Oh and she passed away in August 1977.
survived by son John P. (Janice)of Temperance; brother, Alfred of Montana; sister Eldora Andeau, of Blissfield, Mi. Grandchildren, Jeri Rowan, John and Jody Akens and Julie Akens; also 5 great-grandchildren
