Ronald K. Aldinger, 72, of Aledo, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at his home surrounded by family.

Cremation was accorded and his ashes will be transported back to Edgerton, Ohio, at a later date by his family and laid to rest with his son, Erik Aldinger.

Ronald Kenneth Aldinger was born on March 25, 1942, in Moline, to Carl and Evelyn Waller Aldinger. On June 6, 1964, he married Karen E. Krouth.

He graduated from Moline High School in 1960 and Augustana College in 1964. He worked for Deere and Co. after graduation and transferred to the Columbus branch as an auditor. He went to work for Liechty Farm Equipment in Archbold, Ohio, for 21 years as a store manager and head of the computer department.

In 1989, he became part owner of Aledo Equipment in Aledo, for 11 years. During this time, he was past president of Oak View Country Club and owner of Coast True Value. Most recently, he was working for Collinson Stone Co. in Milan.

Ron enjoyed golf in his early years and then watching his grandchildren in sports and any other activities. Ron also enjoyed cooking for family and entertaining friends. As an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Ohio State fan, he enjoyed the many trips to Wisconsin and Ohio to visit friends.

In addition to his wife, Karen, survivors include a daughter, Kristen (Dan) McGuire, Aledo; a son, James (Michelle) Aldinger, Aledo; and his grandchildren, Brittny Peters, Jaxon McGuire, Zachary Aldinger and Christian Aldinger; and soon to be great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Erik Aldinger.
