COOKSON- Funeral services for Ella Mae Ballew, 84, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 at Cookson United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald D. Niblett officiating. Burial will follow in Cookson-Proctor Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Ella Mae Ballew, daughter of Dick and Alice (Alcorn) Blevins, was born Aug. 1, 1917 in Braggs and died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002 at her home in Tulsa.
Ella Mae was married to Pat Ballew who prededed her in death in 1985. They made their home in Cookson for most of their lives, where they were members of the United Methodist Church. Ella Mae loved to travel, shop, dress up and go to town, and most of all spend time with her family land friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat; her parents, Dick and Alice Blevins; two brothers, Virgil and Loyd Blevins; and one sister, Hazel Marshall; She is survived by her stepsons Dr. George Ballew and wife Mary, and Dr. Dewey G Ballew and wife Maxine, all of Broken Arrow; her brother and sister, Orville Blevins of Bixby and Lorece Hunter of Tupelo, Ark., eight step-grandchildren; 20 step-greatgrandchildren, sixstep- greatgreatgrandchildren; and many loved ones and friends.
