HAPPY — Bill F. Andrews, 81, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Tulia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Happy's Memorial Chapel in Happy with the Rev. Tom Stribling, pastor of United Methodist Church of Happy, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.
Bill F. Andrews was born Feb. 9, 1932, in Joy to William and Ida Chapman Andrews. He married Ruth Lynell Knox 62 years ago on Sept. 29, 1951, in Happy.
Bill was employed by the city of Happy as the water-sewer superintendent for 36 years. He also served as fire chief in Happy for 35 years. He served the public in many capacities during his lifetime. He was very proud to graduate from the first Panhandle paramedic class in 1979. He served as an instructor for first aid, emergency medical technician, paramedics, and served on the PEMISS board until his retirement in September 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Lynell Andrews of Happy; a son, Bill Andrews and wife Ruth of Happy; a daughter, Pam Williams and husband Jay of Pampa; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Henry Knox and wife Janie of Fort Garland, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Robinson of Canyon.
The family suggests memorials be to Happy Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 216, Happy, TX 79042; or United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 56, Happy, TX 79042.
Viewing will be in Happy's Memorial Chapel.
