Albert Cecil Acklin, 84, Klamath Falls, died Oct. 12, 1999, of natural causes in Las Vegas.
A memorial service was held at Eternal Hills Funeral Home.
Mr. Acklin was born Nov. 14, in Montrose, Colo. to James and Florence (Hutton) Acklin.
He was raised in the Montrose area.
He married Esther Rose Vance in Montrose in 1939.
They moved in 1940 to Cottage Grove, where he worked in a saw mill until moving to the Klamath Basin in 1945.
He grew potatoes before purchasing property near Bonanza and Sprague River in the 1950's to grow hay and grain and raise cattle.
After selling the property in 1974, the couple made their home in the suburban area of Klamath Falls with Mr. Acklin continuing to farm until retiring in 1986.
He enjoyed farming, camping, fly fishing, spending time with his family and friends and after retiring spending the winter months in Arizona and Las Vegas.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Acklin of Klamath Falls; daughter and son-in-law Dorothy and Vern Manson of Red Bluff, Calif., son and daughter-in-law Fred and Mary Acklin of Klamath Falls; grandchildren Wesley and Darrin Manson and Lynn, John, and Karen Acklin; and sister Mary Gearhart of Oklahoma.
