Mrs. Abeyta is the beloved wife of 46 1/2 years to Santiago Abeyta. Sylvia is also survived by two daughters, Theresa Abeyta and her fiancé, Elmer Mora and Sharon Ortega and her fiancé, Jesse Plaster, her father, Benjamin Ortega, four sisters, Mary Ann Chávez and her husband, Paul, Benigna Rochester and her husband, Dee, Bernadette Kluding and her husband, Mike and Irene Zamora, five brothers, Bonifacio Ortega, Fermin Ortega and his wife, Jenny, Martín Ortega, Ernest Ortega and his wife, JoAnn and Alex Ortega and his wife, Lorraine, six grandchildren, Eric, Eli, Alexzandra, Joseph, Desi and Dino, one great-grandchild, Aalyssa.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her mother, Margarita Ortega, a daughter, Cynthia Abeyta and a brother, Patricio Ortega.
Sylvia was a member of the Catholic Church.
Visitation will be on Monday evening after 6:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will be on Tuesday morning after 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 by Father Manuel Vierra. Interment will follow at the San José de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Barela, Carl Stanley, Carmel Martínez, Martín Montoya, Jesse Plaster, Elmer Mora and Steve Aragón.
