Joe W. Abrams, 82, of Farmington, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Bee Hive Nursing Home after a lengthy and debilitating illness.
He was a long-time area resident and local businessman.
In the early 1960 and 1970’s, Mr. Abrams, along with his wife, Christena, owned and operated one of the more popular restaurants in the area, the Calico Kitchen, now Chef Bernie’s.
Mr. Abrams, an avid sportsman was a registered hunting and fishing guide and was well known in local fishing circles.
He is survived by his wife, Christena, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2004, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Farmington, with Monsignor Leo Gomez, celebrant. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
