D. Evelyn Harris, 95, of Cabery, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec, 26, 2009, at ASTA Care Center, Pontiac.
She was born June 26, 1914, at Pontiac, the daughter of Earl and Lela (Moffett) Holmes. She married Charles Harris May 23, 1936, at Pontiac. He preceded her in death in 1963.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Diane Harris, Reddick; four grandchildren, Kathy (Robert) Harris, Piedmont, Okla., Karen Harris, Oklahoma City, Okla., Steve (Cynthia) Harris, Reddick, and Sandy (Alvie) Harris-Meadows, Elmhurst; five great-grandchildren, Marcie, Ty and Taylor Harris, Reddick, and Grace and Charles Meadows, Elmhurst; one brother, Merle (Joann) Holmes, Fairbury; and one sister, Marge (Robert) Black, Clermont, Fla.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by one son, Roger Charles Harris; two brothers and three sisters.
Evelyn was educated in Pontiac schools.
She helped her husband and son farm.
She was a member of the Cabery United Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors.
