I never knew Charles, although he was my Btother. It was before my time. Daddy called him by his middle name Leonard, as he did most of his kids. Daddy showed me when I was 12 years old where he is buried at and he never had a Headstone to mark his grave until 2008 and I had one made and Lawrence paid to have his name put on it. Now He can rest in peace. Daddy was poor back then and couldn't afford much.
Leonard only lived 9 days. Daddy told me the story. He was born with a defect. Something was wrong with his Esophagus and he could not breast feed. The Doctors said they knew of nothing they could do to help him, so Daddy and Lillie had already lost 2 boys and had to sit there and wait on this one to starve to death. Don't you know that was horrible on Daddy, Lillie and Leonard. I know God had to be with them.
