Funeral Pending for Mrs. Allred, Winter Pioneer Winters, Aug 13.
Funeral plans, for Mrs. Willie Ann Allred, 81 were incomplete Sunday night pending word from son, Sgt. J.L. Allred Jr. in Alaska.
Mrs. Allred, widow of one of the first practicing physicians in Winters. She was born in Alabama. She and her husband Dr. J.L. Allred were settlers in Runnel County, coming from Delta County in 1906. Her husband was one of the founders of the Winters Municipal Hospital. He died Jan 13, 1917.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Frank Paxton and Mrs. C.F. Roberts, both of Winters, two sons W.D. Allred of Los Angels Calif. and Sgt. Allred in Alaska. A brother, Alfred Currington of Austin. A sister, Mrs. Jesse Looney of Corpus Christi; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren…
