Miss Elsie Brown Buried In Concord
Funeral services for Miss Elsie Brown, who passed away Monday night about 9 o'clock at her home in Concord, was held at the Concord Christian church of which she was a member, Wednesday at 10 o'clock. Elder O.K. Cull and Elder A.J. Mize, both of Griffin, conducted the services. Interment was in the cemetery near by. Pallbearers were her cousins, Richter Smith, Chas. M. Smith, S.A. King, E.L. Raven, Theodore Smith and Lamar Smith. Miss Brown was the eldest daughter of Mrs. Florence Brown and the late Werner Brown, a prominent educator and had been a resident of this county all her life, being in her 29th year at the time of her death. She was educated at the State Normal College at Athens and at Shorter college. She was especially talented in music, and was gifted with a clear , sweet voice which she used often in church services and on other occasions. In addition to her mother, she is survived by one sister, Miss Eloise Brown of Atlanta and by the following uncles and aunts: Jno. H., Charles T., F. Mortimer and Julian E. Smith all of Concord; Mrs. E.T. Rouse of Meigs, Ga., Mrs Jesse T. Ellis, Griffin, Harold Brown of Birmingham, Ala., and P. Frank Brown, Miss Ethel Brown and Mrs. Hartley, all of Athens.
