Birth: May 16, 1906
Death: May 1, 1988

Fannie Molina Aleman, 81, who operated a popular Mexican food restaurant in Victoria for more than a quarter century, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday in a San Antonio hospital after a long illness.
She and her husband, the late Frank H. Aleman, established Aleman's Restaurant at 512 S. Glass St. in 1948. The restaurant was an outgrowth of a thriving tamale business Mrs. Aleman had developed out of her home.
Aleman's began with six tables and was expanded in 1952 and again in 1967 after fire caused interior damage. When her husband died in 1955, Mrs. Aleman assumed full responsibility of the business and continued to operate it until retiring in 1976, when the restaurant was sold, the name was changed and it eventually moved to a different location.
Mrs. Aleman was active for many years in volunteer assistance for the needy through Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and was a member of that parish and of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in San Antonio. She also was a member of VFW Auxiliary 4146, Guadalupanas and the Texas Restaurant Association.
She maintained a residence in Victoria until last year when she moved permanently to San Antonio to be with her daughter.
Along with her daughter, Maria Delia "Kinos" Rosas, Mrs. Aleman raised five orphaned nieces and nephews, Olivia M. Ozuna and Tillie M. Gonzales of Victoria, Paul M. Martinez of Baytown, Ricky Cases of Venezuela and the late Elvira M. Serur.
She was born May 16, 1906 in Brownsville to the late Jose and Norberta Saldivar Molina. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Molina Martinez, and two brothers, Victor Molina and Jose Molina Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel E. Giorgi of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cuero officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery under direction of Artero Memorial Chapels.
