CUTHBERT-Cleo Morris Ballard, 98, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 in the Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in East View Cemetery with Rev. Ben Crowdis officiating.

Mrs. Cleo was born on February 5, 1917 in Morgan, GA the daughter of the late James Owen Morris and the late Minnie Drinkwater Morris. She was a retired owner of Hayes Furniture Store and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cuthbert. She was a charter member and past president of the Azalea Garden Club, was a life member of the Garden Club of GA and an avid Gardener all of her life. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Vinson Hayes, C. F. Lumpkin and Clarence Ballard and a son-in-law, Gene “Pigg” Thompson.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Hayes Thompson of Shellman, a granddaughter, Tori (Kevin) Harris of Shellman, a grandson, Tony (Amy) Thompson of Cuthbert, a great granddaughter, Madison Harris, two great grandsons, Matt Thompson and Brayden Harris, a number of nieces and nephews

Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in care of Annie Rae Pearce at 209 Maple St. Cuthbert, GA 39840.
