Funeral services for David Clayton Akin, 74, were held from
the Hardwick United Methodist Church on July 8. Burial followed in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Akin died July 7 in Middle Georgia Medical Center after
an extended illness. Mr. Akin was a member of the Hardwick United Methodist Church and served on the administrative board of the church and was past chairman of the administrative board. He received his education at Piedmont
College and the University of Georgia and was a teacher in the Baldwin County public schools until his retirment in 1966.

A native of Franklin County, he had lived in Milledgeville for the past 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Wheeler Akin of Milledgeville; two sons, Joe Akin of Griffin, and Frank Akin of Milledgeville; a brother, Edwin Akin of Martin; and a sister, Mrs. Palmour Ragsdale of Toccoa.

Joseph A. Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
