Ehrle Blackmon passed away Saturday evening, January 7, 2012 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home. He was born in Dike on September 10, 1922, the son of Sim Blackmon and Gaynell (Dodd) Blackmon. He married Bobbye Lee Dougherty March 27, 1997 at Hugo, Oklahoma; she survives. He was a retired supervisor of a machine shop with DuPont. He was a member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church. He was also a Mason and he served in the United States Army during World War II.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Betty Ann Blackmon and Lillie Ruth Robinson, both of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Muriel Lucas of Sulphur Springs, Christene McPherson of Shreveport and Lorene Corley of Leonard; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Billy Ehrle Blackmon and brother, Morgan Blackmon. Memorials may be made to Dougherty Cemetery Association
