Nathan Haywood Beaty
Birth: May 30, 1861
Burleson County
Texas, USA
Death: Jun. 1, 1941
Fort Worth
Tarrant County
Texas, USA

Nathan is understood to have followed G W Dunkin from McDade, Bastrop County, Texas and killed him in a shootout. His obituary says he died on 1 June vice 1 May.

Another version was provided by email by an unknown person:

Haywood Batey was involved in the Christmas Day shootout in Mcdade Texas 1884. He and his extended family came to Parker county soon after. In Octber, 1889 he was shot in both hands by GW Dunkin. Being unarmed and on horseback he raced to his cabin followed by Dunkin where he defended himself with a rifle killing Dunkin. ("Weatherford Constituation Oct 16, 1889.") It is believed Dunkin was sent by factions in Mcdade to settle old scores. Dunkin is buried in Cox Cemetary also.

Thanks for providing me with their version, Curtis
