Bethanne Allen, 55, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at home following a long battle with cancer.
She was born May 20, 1955, in Ashton, Idaho, the daughter of Howard S. and Dawna F. Stock Larsen. After graduating in 1973 from South Fremont High School in St. Anthony, Idaho, she attended Brigham Young University and received her bachelor's degree in clothing and textiles. Bethanne married Gregory Allen on Dec. 18, 1976, in Idaho Falls.
For the majority of her life, Bethanne was privileged to be a homemaker with just a few stints outside of the home. She worked as the county agent over 4-H and as a medical transcriptionist when her children were small.
She was an avid gardener, scrapbooker and quilter and loved needlework. One of her greatest joys was making her home beautiful and pleasant for herself and her family. She and her family were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she was very active in the church all her life.
In addition to her husband, Gregory, survivors include her two children, Amanda (David) Choate of Middleton, Wis., and Ian (Sara) Allen of Verona, Wis.; a grandson, Tanner Choate of Middleton; a brother, Howard Larsen of Fish Haven, Idaho; and two sisters, Kathy Holbrook of Rupert, Idaho, and Margery Ruch of Bloomington, Ill.
Bethanne was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints stake center, 700 Bear Claw Way in Madison, Wis.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Gunderson West Funeral and Cremation Care, 7435 University Ave. in Middleton.
Interment will be Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in Fish Haven, Idaho.
