"The friends of John Beaston will be pained to lean of the death of his second son, Johnnie, on Monday the 24th inst. He was out harrowing wheat and when he came to the house he assisted his brother smaller than himself, to get one of the horses he was working. He then attempted to get on the other and it is supposed he fastened to the harness. The horses took fright and ran, breaking both of the boys legs, and fractured the back part of Johnnie's skull. This happened about noon and he was brought to the house apparently dead, but began to breathe in a short time and live in an unconcious state until 3 o'clock Tuesday morning. He is represented to us as being an unusually smart boy and was admired and loved by all who knew him. The parents have our heartfelt sympathy.."
