TAOS, Mo. -Herman F. Appold, 78, of Taos, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Cumberland, a son of Bert and Meady Wagner Appold.
He was married April 14, 1951, in Cumberland to Marie McBee, who survives at the home.
He worked for the Celanese Rayon Plant from 1937-1951, the Yacht Company from 1952-1965, and for Westinghouse from 1971 until his retirement in 1982. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in France and Belgium during World War II.
He is also survived by two daughters, Cindy Wieberg, of Linn, and Malinda Prichett of Reed Springs; one son, Fred Appold of Taos; four granddaughters; one step granddaughter; and one step grandson.
Friends will be received from 1 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Houser-Millard - Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 W. Main St., Jefferson City, Mo.
Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel.
Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 19, 1999, in the Chapel of Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery at Cumberland.
