Irene Elizabeth Robertson Buchanan
Irene Elizabeth Robertson Buchanan, 85, of Bakersville, N.C., passed away Monday May 11, 2009 in the Brookside Rehab Center in Burnsville.
A native of Yancey County she was a daughter of the late Garrett and Buena Thomas Robertson and was a member of the Silver Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul H. Buchanan, a daughter Shelba Greenlee, a son Windell Buchanan, three brothers Emory, Earcil and Ernest Robertson and a sister Eula Howell.
Survivors include a daughter Glenna Masters of Roswell, GA and two sons, Phillip Buchanan of Bakersville, and Ronnie Buchanan of Micaville. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Buchanan will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday May 14 in the Silver Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Orr officiating.
Interment will follow in the Silver Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
