Mrs. Sarah Florence Aaron of Opelika, formerly of Valley, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at her residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 6 at 4 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lanett with the Rev. Bill Van Dyke officiating.

Mrs. Aaron is survived by her daughter, Sharon (David) Newman of Opelika; her son, Woodston "Buddy" Aaron of Valley; three granddaughters, Tara (Craig) Agee of Opelika, Amanda (Sean) Hudson of Tallahassee Fla., and Shannon Leeann Aaron of Opelika; one grandson, Tyler Newman of Opelika; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Hudson of Tallahassee and Johnathan Fuller of Opelika; and one sister, Nellie McDonald of Valley.

Mrs. Aaron was preceded in death by her parents, Jefferson Davis (Lula) Waters; her husband, Jack D. Aaron; and one brother, Ben Waters.

She was an avid member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She worked many years at Shawmut Mill as a spinner. After retiring from the mill, Mrs. Aaron worked at Hardee's seven years where she enjoyed serving coffee and having casual conversation with her customers.

The family received friends Thursday, May 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lanett.
