Obituary: Randolph NY Register, June 28, 1918
Was About 67 Years of Age -- His Fatal Sickness Was of Short Duration -- Survived by Wife and Two Children
Jason Abbey, a member of one of the pioneer families of Randolph, died at 5 o'clock this morning, following an attack of pneumonia. Mr. Abbey was taken sick a week ago on Tuesday, and for several days the family has realized that his condition was serious.
Jason Abbey was 67 years of age. He was son of Orange Abbey, and was born in this township. Two of his brothers who were well known here died last December: Warren J. Abbey of Onoville, and John Abbey of Randolph, the latter's fatal sickness being something akin to pneumonia.
Mr. Abbey has been a resident of Randolph most of his life; he resided in Forestville for a time, also at a point near Cherry Creek and on Chautauqua Lake.
Mr. Abbey and his wife, who was Miss Bryant, lived on Coldspring street in this village. Mr. Abbey has been conducting farming operations on a small place because his health was not sufficient for heavy work. The couple have two children; Mrs. Mabel Newton of Falconer, and Carey Abbey, who is employed at Niagara Falls.
The funeral services will be conducted on Sunday.
