Is almost certainly the father of Mahala [Collins] Soule, born 1806. It is documented that her father's name was "Samuel" and at the time of this Samuel's death, she was living on the Ephrain Sloan farm, a half-mile north of the Sherman Farm Cemetery. Her husband, Benjamin Soule, and grandson, Benjamin Gibbs, are also among the twelve burials in this farm cemetery. Although most of her family soon moved north to Montcalm and Mecosta Counties... she remained in Rollin for another ten years before finally moving to Mecosta, where she is buried.
