Christopher Ty Wilson
1966 ~ 2016
Christopher Ty Wilson, 50, died December 25, 2016, after spending Christmas morning with his family. Ty was born October 26, 1966 in Ogden to Jay Wilson and Linda Bowen Wilson. He grew up in Ogden, Sandy, and Salt Lake, graduating from Cottonwood High School in 1985.
Ty was a man of many interests. He was a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan. He might have gotten hooked during the 1972 perfect season, but he loved the Dolphins during the lean years, too. He loved all kinds of music, from Kiss to Lady Gaga to Mozart to Queensryche. An avid movie fan his entire life, he could practically carry on whole conversations using only movie quotes. He also loved to read and had books stuffed into every nook and cranny of his house.
Ty worked a variety of jobs, including many years at National Semiconductor. Always a math whiz, he earned an accounting degree from Salt Lake Community College, and he was the person everyone turned to for help, whether with algebra homework, computer problems, or 1980s trivia. There just wasn't anything he couldn't figure out.
His family feels strongly about conveying what a gifted, loving and wonderful man Ty was. He loved his family above all else, willing to help in absolutely any way. He is much loved and adored, and will be missed by those who survive him: Mother, Linda Alder, and stepfather, Brent Alder; Father, Jay Wilson, and stepmother, Angel Wilson; sisters: Marnie Lansdown (Mark), Julie Buckalew (Cody), April Metcalf (Jonathan); and brother, Jon Alder; nieces: Kayli Stalker, Drew Buckalew, Emma Lansdown and Ellie Lansdown; and nephews: Jaxon Stalker and Oscar Metcalf.
We will gather to celebrate Ty's life Friday, December 30, 2016 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street in Murray. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service following at noon. Please come out and join us, and say an extra prayer for Ty's brother, Jon, who is recovering from injuries sustained in the same accident that claimed Ty's life.
