Lue Ella Brailsford Jones, 87, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital, Manning.Born Feb. 16, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Preston Sim and Rose Canety Brailsford. She received her education in the public schools of Clarendon County, and was a member of New Hope UME Church in Pinewood.
Survivors are three daughters, Rose M. Hill of Oklahoma City, Okla., Martha Davis Green of Spring Valley, N.Y., and Mary (Cleveland) Lancaster of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a special granddaughter, Minnie (Fletcher) Leaf of Sumter; a special great-granddaughter, Kimberly Davis (Quinlan) Simmons; a sister-in-law, Julia T. Brailsford; an additional son-in-law, Joe E. Hill of Alabama; 46 additional grandchildren; and 11 additional great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lue Ella Jones was preceded in death by a daughter, Minnie Lue Mack; two brothers, Willie and Buster Brailsford; and three sisters, Julia B. Davis, Margaret B. DesChamps and Minnie B. Brown.
Funeral services: New Hope UME Church with Bishop Leroy T. James, pastor, and the Rev. Dorothy Boyd officiating.
Interment: New Hope Cemetery in Pinewood.
