Mrs. Tabitha Powers, wife of Dr. Jesse L. Powers, departed this life on last Saturday morning at 2 o'clock. She was stricken with paralysis on Thursday morning. She was born in Kentucky in 1802, removed to this county in 1834, and has ever since resided on the same farm in Helt Township. The departed was a woman of more than ordinary intelligence. She was a member of the Christian Church and lived a very consistent life. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Although being blind for 30 years, she had born her lot with patience and resignation. The funeral services which were very appropriate, were conducted by Rev. Thomas Griffith on Sabbath at 11 o'clock. Her remains were interred at the cemetery near her late residence. The aged husband and family have the sympathy of all.
