JAMES OWEN "Jim" ALTUM, 69, passed away of natural causes, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his home in Clinton, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Owen "Jack" Altum (1957) and Eunice Hux Altum (1999), by his half sister, Alma Jean Graham (2008) and his nephew, Michael Wilson (2014).
Survivors include four sisters and one brother: Joan Mincey (John) of Knoxville, TN, Judy Emert (Eddie) of Heiskell, TN, Janice Henderson of Maryville, TN, Jane Wilson (Todd) of Summerfield, NC and John Altum of Greenbriar, TN. He also had several nieces and nephews.
Jim served in the United States Navy as a Boatswain's mate and was a Vietnam Veteran. He graduated from Clinton High School in the Class of 1964. Jim was an avid collector of high school annuals and loved sharing photos from those annuals with everyone on his Facebook page. He also loved to collect family photographs, was an avid walker, loved clearing old graveyards (Peoples Cemetery) and enjoyed working in his own yard.
The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 pm, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with full military service to follow. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. holleygamble.com
