James "Red" Kota, 69, of Darmstadt, Germany, formerly of Gowanda, New York, died October 19, 2012 at his home. Mr. Kota was a U.S. Army veteran; worked at Bethlehem Steel Company in Buffalo, Moench Tanning Company in Gowanda and a printing company in Germany. He was the husband of Rose Kota of Germany; son of the late John and Mary (Sek) Kota; father of Annette (Joseph) Gorenflo of Gowanda, Jackie Kota of Gowanda, James Kota Jr. of Colorado, Beckie Kota of Germany; brother of Charles (Beverly) Kota of Wayland, David (Nancy) Kota of Gowanda; also survived by three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was laid to rest in Ruheforst, Germany.
