A native of Ohio, Albert was the son of Daniel Armacost and Esther Jane Ritchie. His father, Daniel, was farmer and later supported the family as a boatman. Albert lived at home with his parents until the 1870's, and he worked as a laborer.

Clermont County, Ohio records indicate that an "Albert K. Armacost" married Sarah K. Clark there on 24 Dec 1879. Census records show that a man named Albert Armacost, born in Ohio around 1851 or 1852 and married to a woman named Katie, lived in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky in 1880. He worked as a stone boater, and the couple did not have any children when the census was taken. [It is uncertain as to whether the 1879 marriage record and 1880 census listing refer to the subject of this memorial or not, though it seems likely that they do.]

In 1910, Albert reported on census records that he was a widower. At that time, he lived in Calhoun County, Illinois and was employed at a brick factory. 1917 Illinois death records listed his occupation as "penman."

At the time of his death, Albert was 66 years, 5 months and 19 days old. He was buried on 30 Jun 1917.

PICKPOCKETS ON STREET CARS
PURLOIN MONEY FROM TWO MEN

One Man Loses $173 and Another
Has $30 Stolen From Him.

Albert Armacost, connected with the Clayton Brick Co., chased a man who he thought had robbed him of a purse containing $173, for nearly a block, Thursday night, and caught him.

The suspect was taken to Central District Police Station, where he denied the charge. Mr. Armacost's purse was not found in the suspect's possession, but he was held for investigation, and an order was issued for the arrest of a well-known local pickpocket.

Mr. Armacost told the police that when he boarded an Olive car at Twelfth street, he was jostled by several men, and felt a hand in his hip pocket. When he reached for his purse and found it missing, he pursued a young man who jumped from the car.

James L. Birch of 3022 Vine Grove avenue was robbed of a purse containing $30 as he was boarding a Taylor car at Forest Park Highlands about 10 p.m. Thursday. He suspects a young man who jostled him roughly, as he was getting on the car.
