Wood River-Martha I Pile, 79, died at 1:05 p.m., Saturday, Jul 8, 2006, at Saint Anthony's Hospital in Alton.
She was born Jan.24, 1927, in Carrollton to the late Frank and Lilian(Barnett)Badman.
She married Richard T Pile on Oct.6, 1946, in Winchester, Ill. and he survives.
She was a cashier for the Roxana School District. She was a member of Pleasant View General Baptist Church in Wood River. She loved her church and her family and enjoyed reading and playing the organ at church.
In addition to her husband, surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy and Mike McVey and Penny Brueggemann, all of Wood River; three grandchildren, Michelle Tyler, Rachel McVey and Jonathon Brueggemann; three great-grandchildren, Seth and Nichole Tyler and Devin McVey; and two sisters, Lucy Welsh and Elsie Rueter, both of Winchester.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Welch and a brother Earl Badman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant View General Baptist Church in Wood River. The Rev. Tony Whetsel will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant View General Baptist Church.
