Harvey Layton Bedsole, 83, of White Lake passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
He was an Army veteran. Harvey was a great asset to the Woodmen of the World and he served as State Manager and a Board member. He also was a member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church, and he also taught Biology and Chemistry at Elizabethtown High School.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney A. and Ruby Durham Bedsole, two brothers, Raymond and Amos Bedsole, two sisters, Frances Johnson and Berline Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Iula Lennon Bedsole of the home; two sons, Layton Bedsole and wife Kari of Wilmington, Marc Bedsole and wife Cindy of Orlando, FL;
One daughter, June Guyton and husband Steve of White Lake; three brothers, Gene Ray Bedsole of Shelbyville, TN, Morris Bedsole of Hendersonville, NC and Junious Bedsole of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Elizabeth Bowen of Fayetteville and Ruby Wilson of Lumberton; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea, Jenna, Patrick, Nathan, Morgan and Michael.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 11:00 am a Beard Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Chris Carroll and Rev. Bruce Cannon officiating.
