Rev. Willie Alvin Benoit, 79, passed away in Encore Health Care in Crowley on January 20, 2015. Funeral services were held at H. O. P. E. United Pentecostal Church of Evangeline. Burial followed in Bluff Cemetery of Evangeline.
Rev. Benoit was born on October 1, 1935 to the late Norbert and Grace Hanks Benoit. He was a graduate of the Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo, MS and pastored churches in Nederland, Texas and Jennings, LA. He also worked as a printer for over 30 years for different companies. He loved ministering to families and took care of his late wife for 10 years.
He was survived by one son, two brothers, one sister, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan Benoit; daughter, Cheryl Benoit and his parents.
