Funeral services for Mr. Andrew Barber, Jr. was held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Clarksville Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Reed, Sr., Officiating.

Andrew Barber, Jr. began this life’s journey on July 31, 1961 in Richmond, Virginia born to the late Mary Scott Barber and Andrew Barber, Sr.

Andrew joined the Clarksville Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Oliver P. Clayton. He was an active member of the church youth choir. Later becoming an active member of the family choir at Crusaders World Revival Church; in which the kids of the choir would always imitate his moves.

Andrew was educated in the Richmond County Public Schools where he graduated from Rappahannock High School in 1981. During his high school years, he was known as the “Dancing Machine” and BEST DRUM MAJOR from 1979-1981. At that time Junior’s vibrant enthusiastic talents led the band in numerous victories! He went on to expand his education by attending the Vocational Center and studied commercial foods.

Coffee’s culinary skills were later used to feed everyone because of his caring and giving heart. He also volunteered at numerous nursing homes and ensured that all the kids’ needs were met. Junior’s other skills included detailing cars and landscaping. Junior will always be remembered, his legacy will forever live on.

On October 20, 2014 at his residence in Warsaw, Virginia, Andrew began his new journey with the Lord. He was predeceased by his parents, son, Andrew Michael Barber and sister, Vanessa Mae Barber.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Sherry Perkins-Barber of 3 ½ years; his daughter, Shawnika Baylor (chris); three adopted daughters; Britteny Duncan, Tatianna foreman, and Candace Dease; his three grandchildren: Brianna Rich, Zavian Baylor, and Jayden Baylor; an adopted granddaughter, Brianna Duncan; his five sisters: Shelby Barber, Bernice Laws (Robert), Mary Lou Barber, Linda Barber and Loleto Barber; a brother, Angelo Barber, a nephew, Antonio Laws (Eboni); an aunt, Rosa Lee Scott, an uncle, Frank Scott, father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Joyce Perkins; three sisters-in-law, Cherry Perkins, Ebony Perkins, and Joyce Perkins; a brother-in-law, Rafael Scott Perkins; twelve nieces and nephews: Shayla, Passion, Dezmoine, Bryan, Yashuwa, Chanel, DeAndre, Keyon, Dylan, Jaylen, Layla, and Tyler a host of relatives and friends.

Interment services were held at the church cemetery where family and friends served as both pall and floral bearers.
